Jim Ireland

Member of Actors’ Equity Association

Celebrating his 35th year of shouting the Bard’s words from the boards, Jim’s most cherished roles are Sir Andrew Aguecheek directed by RSC artistic director Gregory Doran, Malvolio (Off-Off-Broadway), and Jonny Epstein’s Fool in King Lear right here at Orlando Shakes! Jim might be recognized as the doc (Kelly) who tried to get Olivia Benson to retire this season on Law & Order SVU. Off-Broadway credits include The Shawl with Dianne Wiest, directed by Sidney Lumet (Jewish Rep.), and Motherbird (Original cast) by Craig Lucas. Jim played opposite Phylicia Rashad under the direction of Kenny Leon in Every Tongue Confess. Jim is a member of Circle East Theatre Company, for whom he has directed and performed in plays by fellow members Terrence McNally, Craig Lucas, William Hoffman, and the late, great Lanford Wilson. Jim’s voice can be heard most recently on Marvel’s Wolverine, a podcast, and not most recently, opposite the legendary Colleen Dewhurst in A Door in the Wall, a radio drama on NPR.
