Goldman Theater | By David Mamet | Directed by Thomas Ouellette

Run time: 90 minutes (with no intermission).

A gripping, no-holds-barred courtroom drama

Fresh from Broadway, this high-voltage drama tackles the most incendiary topic of our time. Three attorneys, two black and one white, are called on to represent a wealthy white man charged with assaulting a young black woman. With the palpable tension of a fierce cross-examination and no shortage of wry humor, Race fearlessly challenges our perceptions of race, guilt, justice, and truth.

Content Advisory: Race contains frequent strong profanity and racial epithets. Recommended for adult audiences only.

Audience Comments

"As my 15 year old daughter would say, OMG you have got to see this play!!!! I have been attending performances at the OST for over 10 years ever since I've lived in Orlando and I can honestly say that Race by David Mamet is one of my top three favorite performances I have seen at the theater EVER! It is truly a must see!" - Dean B.

"Whoever selected that play… to bring that here.. should be commended. The event of the season.. of ANY season. Just brilliant!!" - Aubrey G.

"This show drips with brutal realism…Director Ouellette gets the best from this stellar cast…" - Carl F. Gauze, INK 19

"I've been coming here for years and years and that was the BEST show I have ever seen here. The actors were impressive." - Barbara K., Season Subscriber

"…the lines were delivered at such a pace that it was impossible to let your eyes wander…there were also wonderful moments in which the bombast and sensationalism of loud racial epithets ceased and the vulnerability of the characters was revealed." - Holly V. Kapherr, ORLANDO WEEKLY
