Peter and the Starcatcher
|December 2, 2015 - January 3, 2016|
A Play by Rick Elice
Young starcatcher apprentice Molly Aster enlists the help of three orphan boys to return a trunk of precious “starstuff” to her father. Pursued by a mustached pirate captain, a giant crocodile, and angry mollusks, the children must come face to face with the scariest enemy of all---their looming adulthood. A wildly theatrical, hilarious, and innovative retelling of how a nameless orphan came to be The Boy Who Never Grew Up.
Peter and the Starcatcher runs approximately two hours and 20 minutes, including one 15 minute intermission.
“Orlando Shakespeare Theater's production of "Peter and the Starcatcher," a prequel to the familiar tale of Peter Pan, captures much of the show's magic — silly songs, goofy wordplay and anachronistic jokes.” - Matt Palm, Orlando Sentinel
“This play with music is a mad-cap comedy that gives each of the individual actors opportunities to shine. However, chief amongst them is Michaels, the cast's lone woman. She is a delightful mix of fearlessness and naiveté. Her magnetic charisma and the ever-present sparkle in her eye are undoubtedly two of the show's strongest assets.” - Broadway World, Orlando
"I have been Raving to everyone about this terrific production.... congratulations." - Audience Comment
"It was creative, imaginative, hysterical, well-acted. The script was phenomenal, I'm telling all my friends to come and see it." - Audience Comment
"“I absolutely LOVED the show! Everything was perfect! It was my first visit to Orlando Shakes. I will be back! I especially loved the use of venetian blinds as the backdrop and the ship's' ropes to create spaces. The acting was fabulous!" - Audience Comment
