We hope you’ll join us for the annual STA Conference, Shakespeare Here and Everywhere, scheduled from February 29 – March 3, 2012 in sunny Orlando, FL.
Hosted by Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF, this year’s conference promises to be one of the most enlightening, enlivening and informative ever. We highly encourage members to arrive on Wednesday, February 29, in time for a 7:00 p.m. special performance of What You Will: An Evening By and About the Bard written and performed by Roger Rees. Admission is free for all registered conference attendees (subject to availability).

Welcome Letter
Dear STA Colleagues,
You will have to borrow me Gargantua's mouth to describe the wonders that will await you in Orlando from February 29 - March 3 at the 2012 STA Conference.
This will, in effect, be the inaugural conference of our new Shakespeare Theatre Association. STA is already attracting wider international interest, as we all hoped it would. Delegates from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Denmark, Germany and Poland will join us in Orlando.
The theme Shakespeare: Here and Everywhere reflects our more outward-looking mission. Please contact me or Chairs of STA committees if you would like to suggest a topic or contribute to a panel. A pre-conference workshop is also being organised.
Do encourage your Board members to attend. Lure then with the location or bribe them with the benefit of seeing Roger Rees' one-man show which will open the conference. A seminar for Board members will also be offered.
David Dreyfoos, Lesley Malin and Dawn McAndrews will present a strategic plan for STA. There will also be an opportunity to discuss how STA members might collaborate to mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death (or Ben Jonson's First Folio, if you prefer) in 2016.
The STA Executive has accepted Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival's kind offer to host the 2013 conference following Seattle's decision to withdraw. Grateful thanks to Patrick Mulcahy, Casey Gallagher and all at Pennsylvania Shakespeare. Dates for the 2013 conference will be confirmed in Orlando.
So leave your Fredericks behind and join STA companions at the Senior refuge.
Warmest,
Patrick
