Performances at the Shakespeare Center are made available to schools during school hours.
Student Matinees for Signature Series productions are designed to compliment the curriculum for grades 6-12. Curriculum guides highlighting the Florida Sunshine State Standards benchmarks are created for each production to extend learning from the theater into the classroom.
Theater for Young Audience productions target grades K - 4. Curriculum guides are designed to create natural connections between the play and grade level curriculum. Sunshine State Standards are highlighted and lesson plans for further exploration in the classroom are provided.

Shakespeare Alive! - Our most popular and award-winning program!
Grades: 4 - 12 | Fee: $125 per class or $500 for four classes
Classes: Up to four classes per day (50 - 60 minutes per class) or three block periods (60 - 90 minutes per class). Limit 30 students per class period. Shakespeare Alive! is a workshop facilitated by two Orlando Shakespeare Theater Actor/Educators. In the first half, students engage in an interactive plot summary of one of William Shakespeare’s plays. In the second half of the class, 4th through 5th grade students engage in “Insult War” and “Flattery Battle” using vocabulary from Shakespeare’s time. 6th through 12th graders paraphrase Shakespearean text distinguishing between the denotative and connotative meanings of words. It is a perfect companion experience to attending a student matinee!

Shakespeare in Love
Grades: 4 - 12 | Fee: $400 for the first 100 students; $75 for each additional group of 50 students
(FREE with any booking of three or more sessions of Shakespeare Alive!)
Two OST Actor/Educators will present love scenes from Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream for multiple classes at a time in your auditorium or performance space. Using classical costumes and relying on Shakespeare’s text, they will demonstrate the power of Shakespeare’s words in performance. After the performance, students will be led in a discussion of the role of theater in the past and present, and analyze the performance they just saw. This program works best when followed by our award winning curriculum, Shakespeare Alive!, during which our Actor/Educators visit individual classes to lead your students in their own discovery of acting Shakespeare.

Imaginations Alive
Grades: K - 3 | Fee: $125 per class (25 students); $400 for 4 classes
During this inspiring interactive lesson students will demonstrate a basic understanding of internal story grammar and collaborate with students to build and improvise a story of their own creation. Orlando Shakespeare Theater's Actor/Educators use a series of interactive games and theater exercises to help students effectively employ the elements of character, setting, problem and solution.

Shakespearience - You Choose the Play
Grades: 5 - 12 | Fee: $1000 for up to 20 students. $50 for each additional student (includes all materials)
Classes: Two professional Actor/Educators visit one classroom for 60 - 90 minutes a day for six days. Students are introduced to the life and times of William Shakespeare and the plot, themes, and characters from one of his plays. As the week progresses, students are given a role in the play and through rehearsals are taught to identify, analyze and apply new skills to communicate the playwright’s intent through the physical, emotional and social dimensions of his characters. On the final day, you may invite parents to be dazzled by your students’ very own, unique play!
