COSTUME APPRENTICES - The Orlando Shakespeare Theater (an AEA SPT 10 Theater) is seeking Costume Apprentices for the 2008-2009 season. Positions begin on August 18th 2008 and depending on your position run either to March 22nd 2009 or May 3rd 2009. The current stipend is $150 per week and includes housing for the season.

Maintenance Opportunities

FACILITY MAINTENANCE

Hours Per Week:

40 hours hours a week – schedule negotiable

Reports To:

Operations Manager

Responsibilities:

• Daily cleaning of Lobby, and Lobby Restrooms
• Daily cleaning of Greenroom and Dressing Room Floors, Showers and Restrooms
• Daily cleaning of theaters during performance weeks
• Daily Trash Disposal
• Order and maintain all cleaning supplies and tools
• Clean interior windows and glass on a weekly basis with daily polish of front doors.
• Clean of Kitchen Twice a week and after all catered events
• Maintain all carpet in building by spot cleaning and vacuuming (daily in lobby)
• Deep clean Carpets once or twice a year as needed
• Biweekly cleaning of all office spaces for OSF and OPO
• Biweekly cleaning of OPO Restrooms
• Cleaning of meeting rooms and patrons room as needed
• General spot cleaning and upkeep of facility appearance on a daily basis
• Replacing Light bulbs throughout the building as needed.
• Set up all rented events and in-house events with supervision of the Operations Mgr
• Break down tables and chairs, podiums, projectors, etc. after rented events
• Tidy up after rentals
• Other tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager or Managing Director.

Requirements

• Must be a responsible self starter
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and push/pull 100 pounds
• Must be able to climb ladders and use aerial lift equipment to heights of 30 feet
• Must be familiar with all standard commercial janitorial equipment including but not limited to, vacuums, floor strippers, and carpet cleaners

Contract Length:

August 1, 2008 – July 31, 2009 (Renewable)
